{"id":742,"date":"2010-04-10T10:46:43","date_gmt":"2010-04-10T10:46:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/allsense.com.sg\/?p=256"},"modified":"2010-04-10T10:46:43","modified_gmt":"2010-04-10T10:46:43","slug":"smell-chocolate-feel-better-says-research","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allsense.tecnotia.com\/sg\/smell-chocolate-feel-better-says-research\/","title":{"rendered":"Smell Chocolate, Feel Better &#8211; says research"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_257\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-257\" style=\"width: 380px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.allsense.com.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chocolate.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-257\" title=\"Chocolate Bars\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.allsense.com.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chocolate.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"380\" height=\"304\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-257\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Smell Chocolate and feel better, says research<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Neil Martin at the Human Olfaction Laboratory at Middlesex University, discovered the power of chocolate in an experiment where he filled rooms with three smells, one of chocolate, a &#8220;malodour&#8221; of machine oil, which most people find unpleasant, and a lemony, pleasant-but-alerting odour, then monitored testers&#8217; moods.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The aim was to compare the effects of pleasant and unpleasant ambient odours on stress, anxiety, depression and mood,&#8221; Martin explains.<br \/>\n&#8220;&#8230;so far it seems that the smell of chocolate really does make people less stressed and anxious, and more relaxed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In another study we looked at the effect of chocolate on brain activity,&#8221; he says.
